ANYIMADUKROM GETS ACCESS TO SAFE DRINKING WATER AFTER YEARS OF WATER CHALLENGES

Residents of Anyimadukrom in the Tano North Municipality are celebrating a major milestone following the successful provision of potable drinking water to the community after decades of relying on unsafe water sources.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive for Tano North, Hon. Pius Opoku, the community had endured years of hardship as women and children travelled long distances daily in search of water, while many residents remained vulnerable to waterborne diseases due to dependence on unsafe sources.

Hon. Opoku stated that upon assuming office, he prioritised addressing the long-standing challenge by engaging various stakeholders and appealing for support. These efforts resulted in assistance from Elli's Well, which generously provided funding to make the water project a reality.

The MCE expressed delight that the project has now been completed, providing residents with reliable access to clean and safe drinking water. He noted that the overwhelming joy and appreciation shown by the people of Anyimadukrom reflect the significance of the intervention, which has eliminated the need for long walks in search of water and reduced dependence on unsafe water sources.

Hon. Pius Opoku extended his heartfelt appreciation to Elli's Well and all individuals and organisations whose support contributed to the successful execution of the project. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving the living conditions of residents across the municipality, stressing that access to basic social amenities remains a priority.

He emphasised that the completion of the Anyimadukrom water project demonstrates that the concerns of residents are being addressed and assured the public that the Municipal Assembly will continue working to ensure every community in Tano North has access to essential services.
