Dr. Gideon Boako Touches Down on 38 Communities in Tano North Constituency
Tano North MP embarks on extensive constituency tour, listens to grassroots concerns and pledges development
Dr. Gideon Boako, Member of Parliament for the Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, has completed a successful working tour of thirty-eight communities across his constituency, spanning 10th to 21st August, 2026, during Parliament's recess from official duties.
The tour, which covered four distinct zones, saw the MP engage directly with chiefs, residents, and local groups, gathering first-hand information on the challenges facing his constituents while outlining the government's development agenda.
Zone-by-Zone Tour
1. Tanoso/Susuaso/Afrisipa Zone
The MP's visit to this zone took him through the Tanoso Clinic, Tanoso Ahenfie, Adengo, and Afrisipa Ahenfie, where he interacted with health workers, traditional leaders, and community members.
2. Yamfo/Susuaso Zone
This was the largest leg of the tour, covering Susuaso Ahenfie, Yamfo Ahenfie, Assen, Agona Botsie, Tanoano, Asuadei, Koope, Beposo, Rubi, Atudrobesa, Ahyieyem, Yamfo Ghetto, and Tanoso Ghetto — a total of thirteen communities in the zone.
3. Terchire/Adrobaa Zone
The MP visited Krofrom, Bisi, Subriso, Mankraho, Bafokrom, Sukuum, and Kotwe. However, visits to the Adrobaa Ahenfie and Terchire Ahenfie were postponed, with the tour expected to return to these communities at a later date.
4. Bomaa Zone
The final leg of the tour took the MP through Asukese, Onwe, Nkwantabisa, Akurakan, Mamponten, Nsuapem, Atonsu, Kwabena, Dwenease, Apesika, Kwasuagya, Subonpang, Tanokrom, and Dwumakwae. The tour was brought to a close with an open dialogue at the Bomaa Town Square late in the evening, where residents openly shared their concerns with the MP.
Concerns Raised by the People
Throughout the tour, residents across the four zones consistently raised three key concerns:
- Bad roads — Poor road networks in several communities, which the people say urgently need to be fixed to ease transportation and movement of goods and services.
- Poor mobile network communication — Weak and unreliable mobile network coverage in many communities, hampering communication and access to digital services.
- Poor water access due to galamsey activities — The people complained of deteriorating water access, attributing the situation to the destructive activities of illegal miners (galamsey) in the area.
MP's Response and Pledges
After patiently listening to these concerns, Dr. Boako took time to explain the roles of government officials to the residents, clarifying which duty-bearers are responsible for road construction and the building of social amenities in the community.
The MP assured the people that he would do everything within his power to help put the Constituency in good shape, and gave firm assurances on the following:
- Dwenease Durbar Grounds — He promised to clear the land and build a new durbar grounds for the people of Dwenease.
- Asukese Durbar Grounds — He pledged to complete the ongoing durbar grounds project at Asukese by the close of the year.
Support for Pragya and Aboboyaa Riders
In a show of support for local transport operators, Dr. Boako also met with pragya and aboboyaa riders in Duayaw Nkwanta, Bomaa, and Subonpang, and supported them with over fifty thousand Ghanaian cedis (GH¢50,000+) to enable them register their licenses.
