The Kekeli Muslim Community, an Islamic faith-based organization, expressed their well wishes in a statement released on Tuesday.
The statement, signed by the organization's Public Relations Officer, Mohamed Rabiu Adam Mawuli, emphasized the need for caution during animal slaughtering due to the presence of anthrax disease in some parts of the country.
The organization urged Muslims to be vigilant and follow the symptoms outlined by the veterinary department to prevent the spread of the disease, highlighting that Islam emphasizes the preservation of life.
Furthermore, the statement called on all religious bodies to ensure that the LGBTQ+ advocates are not successful in influencing future generations with what they referred to as “satanic ideologies.”
The Kekeli Muslim Community advised adherents to align their activities during and after the festival with Islamic teachings and the laws of the country to receive the blessings associated with the occasion and to avoid legal complications.
The statement also extended warm wishes to Muslims currently undertaking the pilgrimage to Mecca, praying for the acceptance of their supplications and safe return to their respective countries.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael as commanded by Allah. The festival symbolizes the connection Muslims have with the Almighty God through the act of sacrificing animals.
