I want be remembered at Phoenix Rising- Solomon Asante

Ghana winger Solomon Asante says he wants to leave a legacy at Phoenix Rising and the USL championship before he retires.

The former TP Mazembe midfielder achieved a milestone on Sunday with his 100th appearance for the club.

Asante captained Phoenix Rising in that 1-0 win over San Diego Loyal.

Speaking in an interview after making his 100th appearance for the American side, he said,

“I didn’t know I had played 100 games until the coach told me it was a special game for me. So he told me to lead the team and win the game which was a bit of a surprise to me because we treat every game seriously”.

“It was a difficult game against San Diego but we were determined to win the game to stretch the lead on top of the table”.

“I wasn’t expecting anything so after the game, the coach told me he wanted to see me and the players. It was until when he told me that as a captain I had made my 100th appearance for the club”

Asante said he was very happy to have achieved such a milestone

“I was very happy to have played 100 games. I want to reign as the MVP for a long time, make a lot of records too. I want to leave a legacy before I leave”.

Solomon Asante joined Phoenix Rising in 2018 after leaving TP Mazembe.
